1785 Nova Constellatio, About Uncirculated-55 (PCGS) Crosby 4-D ~ CONSTELLATIO with two Ls and no text ornaments. Pointed rays with thick ends. Points toward NOVA aim just left of the N, at the left inside curve of O, and at the inside right foot of A. Reverse with US in large, script monogram. Wreath with 29 pairs of leaves, with two inner leaves joined under the S in LIBERTAS, and three more inner leaves joined under J of JUSTISTIA. Light to medium brown with some areas of brick red. The surfaces are faintly granular under a glass with scattered circulation marks. An old zig-zag scratch in the star under the I in CONSTELLATIO is notable. PCGS reports 16 1785 "Pointed Rays" graded AU-55, 9 as AU-58, and 16 in Mint State. However, these relatively high PCGS Populations are misleading, as this category includes four different die marriages - 1785 Crosby 3-B, 4-C, 4-D, and 5-E. $ 2,650
