1830 Capped Bust Half Dollar, Mint State 67 (PCGS)
Overton 115, PCGS Pop. 1/0

Overton 115 - Small 0 in date, die defect lines between Liberty's drapery and the lower left obverse rim. Rarity 2.

Toned in shades of green, blue and dusty rose on the obverse, while the reverse exhibits bright rose throughout the central area, framed in bright blue and green about the rim. Boldly struck with sharp hair and drapery, and full PLURIBUS on the reverse, although stars 4 through 8 are missing radial lines. As we should expect for this grade, there are no significant contact marks, even under a strong glass.

PCGS has graded a total of five 1830 Bust Halves as MS-66, yet only this coin as MS-67 and none finer. Additionally, this is one of eighteen Lettered Edge Capped Bust Halves certified by PCGS as MS-67, topped by a single 1833 graded MS-68.

$ 54,500
