1821 Capped Bust Half Dollar, Mint State-65 (PCGS)
Overton 105a, Ex Eliasberg

Overton 105a - 21 in date very close. Reverse with C in denomination entirely right of olive stem, and base of A higher than adjacent M in AMERICA. (Rarity 1). Slight reverse die crack connects tops of TAT.

DESC

This is the only 1821 Capped Bust 50c certified as PCGS MS-65, with three MS-66s higher, and was previously certified by NGC as MS-66. The finest 1821 that I've seen is the prooflike NGC Specimen-67 (Heritage 3/2008: 650 @ $115,000) which was also previously certified as NGC MS-66 (Heritage 1/2008: 2868 @ $51,750)
