1793 Liberty Cap 1c, Ex. Fine-45 (PCGS)
Sheldon 13, Scarce One Year Type

Sheldon 13 - Liberty Cap obverse with beaded border, two beads over I in LIBERTY. Reverse with triple leaf under O in OF, and outside leaf nearly parallel to ME in AMERICA. (Rarity 4-).

Overall medium brown in color, although with some light variegation of deeper browns on the obverse. The surfaces are mostly choice, with only light circulation marks, a few minor rim bruises showing on the reverse above the E in UNITED, also above the space between STATES OF, and a small rough patch in the right obverse field. The strike is a little shallow, typical of these, with some central weakness evident on both sides. Nevertheless, this is one of the better examples of this scarce type issue, which is more often than not found in conditions ranging from Poor to barely Fine, and with significant problems.
