Gold, Platinum & Silver Bullion

With the current uncertainty in our economy, and concerns about the future value of fiat currencies including our own, the subject of gold has been steadily building attention in the financial press. While I have traded precious metals for clients since the beginning of my career in the late 1970s, this activity took a far back seat to my activity in the rare coin market. However, as the number of questions and discussions regarding the workings of the physical bullion markets have increased dramatically in the past several months, it is now time to offer this information here, in a more formal manner.

Precious metals including gold, and to a lesser extent, silver and platinum have proven to be strong stores of value through periods of economic and financial stress. However, these metals are offered in many different forms and at a wide array of prices, which can be easily confusing. The pages that follow aim to clear up the confusion and brush away the myths, so that you may easily make the best choices for your precious metal purchases.
